Colon Cleanses and Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathic remedies for colon cleansing have many followers. There are various products available to treat the different causes of constipation. They are inexpensive and work well for some people. One of the best features of homeopathic medicine is that it is generally safe to try out.

Homeopathy is an alternative type of medicine that was developed by an 18th century German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann. He founded a system based on the ancient concept of "like cures like." Through a series of experiments with plants, minerals and chemicals, he charted the symptoms the patients had with each substance. Then, whenever a patient complained of an ache or pain, the symptoms are compared with his large collection of documented symptoms until a match is found. The patient is then given a small diluted dose of the substance that caused that particular ailment to stimulate a person’s natural defenses such as the immune system.

A homeopathic remedy can be used for a colon cleanse to provide both short term and long term relief for many disorders and diseases.  Natural healing is hugely popular as there are no side effects as associated with chemicals, prescription drugs or kits designed to cleanse the colon. For many people, a homeopathic remedy is the only option. These remedies can be used for the overall health of a person as well as a colon cleanse. The immune system and cell functions can be built up steadily with the use of homeopathic solutions.

Some people believe that a homeopathic remedy does not actually cure anything but rather gets the person into a certain frame of mind and helps them get through the problem in that respect but there is no denying that many of the natural substances used in these remedies are well known for their healing qualities. Aloe Vera juice is one such remedy as it replicates the inner workings and processes that should occur naturally, soothing and healing and leaving the colon unblocked and clear. It is extremely gentle and has no side effects, making it a great choice to nourish the digestive system and stimulate the immune system.

Selecting the Right Homeopathic Remedy for Colon Cleanse

There are a number of different types of homeopathic remedy for many disorders and problems as well as to cleanse the colon. Some of the common ingredients for colon cleansing include:
- Anacardium
- Arg nit
- Ars alb
- Belladonna
- Carbo veg
- Chamomilla
- Chelidonium
- Lycopodium
- Nuc vom
- Scrophularia

The liquid dose is generally 10 drops under the tongue three times a day. Sometimes you can find them as tiny pills that are to be dissolved under your tongue.

There are various remedies to suit different lifestyles or circumstances so it is a good idea to know where the problems have stemmed from before selecting a certain kind. In the case of a colon cleanse there can be a homeopathic remedy for those suffering from it for various reasons. For women who have constipation around the time of menstruation, Sepia 6c can be used.  Nux Vomica 6c is for people who eat too much, are inactive and stressed. Graphites is aimed towards curing symptoms of constipation and even menopausal causes.

To find the correct homeopathic remedy for your particular type of constipation, you need to figure out what is causing it. Sometimes a bit of experimentation is necessary before you find the solution that works best for you.

Simple Homemade Colon Cleanse

One of the great things about the internet is that it has allowed us to easily get news and learn about almost any subject we're interested in. Health information used to be hard to find unless you went to a doctor or clinic. An increasing number of people are becoming more health conscious each day.  There are all kinds of do-it-yourself home remedies on the internet for just about every condition under the sun.  You can even find recipes for a homemade colon cleanse compliments of a search engine near you.

The information overload you encounter through the information super highway can have you mixing every potion and concoction known to man and some unknown.  Amidst the barrage of web information, finding a simple recipe for an effective homemade colon cleanse does not have to be difficult.

Psyllium Seed Husks

Psyllium seed husks have been traditionally used for ages to treat constipation. Any effective store-bought or homemade colon cleanse will contain this ingredient. Psyllium is a high-fiber bulking agent that promotes colon health. The husks swell when they come in contact with water, forming a jellylike mass that hydrates feces and makes it soft.  The accumulated psyllium bulk stimulates your colon to contract and empty itself. When taken with enough water, any fecal matter that has been hardened and trapped in your colon can be softened and set free from the walls of your colon by these husks. Psyllium seed husks can be found separately or incorporated into colon cleanse product.

Probiotics

An effective homemade colon cleanse recipe will also include probiotics.  Probiotics are simply the opposite of antibiotics. While antibiotics destroy bad bacteria (and usually good bacteria along with the bad), probiotics promote the presence of good bacteria in the digestive system.  Probiotics strengthen the immune system and create an environment where parasites and bad bacteria have less of a chance to thrive. They are a type of good bacteria that live in yogurt and other speciality drinks you can find at the grocery store. Make sure the label specifically says that there are live, active cultures included.

If you have to take a round of antibiotics, make sure you include plenty of probiotics during and after your prescribed medication period. It's imortant to get the 'good stuff' working in your body again. For optimal health, include some in your diet every day, not just during a cleanse.

Both psyllium seed husks and probiotics are essential components to look for in any store-bought or homemade colon cleanse.  If a product or recipe doesn't include these ingredients, it's likely to be ineffective.  Be wary of free colon cleanse recipes that require you to purchase another product in order to “complete the system”.  It may be a legitimate product but you can probably get it in its generic form at your local health food store for a fraction of the cost.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t purchase a reputable system that provides real benefits, just be cautious when a homemade colon cleanse is advertised as free but really requires the purchase of a product to reap the full benefits.  In some cases, these products are sub-standard and don’t provide much in the way of value or results. Read the labels on different types of colon cleanses and make yourself a list of ingredients and the order they appear. Ingredients are listed in the order of how much there is in a product with the higest amount in the first ingredient listed.

Basic Colon Cleansing

Why is basic colon cleansing the best way to keep ourselves healthy?

Humans originally developed and evolved eating a much different type of diet that we now consume. This isn't to say we need to exist on nuts and berries. But a basic and natural way to keep our insides cleaned out is the most efficient.

There are many colon cleansing processes. You'll find that some are basic. Others are complex or even extreme.  The most natural and basic colon cleansing process is the one is closest to our original diet thousands of years ago.  Modern lifestyle ensures that we rarely go back to basics and treat our bodies as they were made for.  We've evolved in certain ways to adjust to the extremes that we have put ourselves under but the increasing number of disorders and ailments that afflict humans goes a long way in telling us we're doing something wrong.

Wild animals that eat raw fruits and vegetables rarely suffer from the same diseases that domesticated animals living on processed pet food do.  This is because their diet is fully of digestive enzymes which in turn lead to the enablement of a basic colon cleansing process which is natural and essential for a body to function.

These same types of digestive enzymes are the ones humans are lacking when eating a Western type of diet. As a result, many of us are looking for a way to lessen the negative effects of our lifestyles and adopt a diet that allows our bodies to function the way they should. If we continue to live our lives eating fast food and junk, our bodies must then create its own digestive enzymes and this effort takes away from other important jobs it should be doing. Things like taking care of the bowels and ensuring a natural and basic colon cleansing process is regularly performed.

Our bodies do not function as they should because we prevent them from doing so.  Unhealthy eating and exposure to pollutants combine to make it harder for our bodies to undertake a natural colon cleansing process on a frequent basis.  This leads to disorders in our bodies and the need for excessive amounts of medications.  All of this could be cut out if we simply took steps to ensure that our bodies were able to perform a regular basic colon cleansing.

Assisting Our Natural Function to Perform Basic Colon Cleansing

Consuming foods rich in nutrients and full of fiber goes a long way to helping our bodies perform the natural function of basic colon cleansing. Remember, your body needs to be detoxified in order to easily absorb the nutrients in the food you consume.

When you flush out your body by taking a few days of eating mild foods, drinking a lot of fluids and ensuring that bowel movements become more regular, you can insure your entire body is enjoying the benefits of a natural detoxification. This internal cleansing can be further assisted with the use of herbal colon cleansing supplements or even a colon cleansing treatment at a health clinic.

Colon Cleanse Side Effects

Let's talk about the side effects of a colon cleanse. Obviously you'll put yourself on the path to renewed health and energy. But since you've accumulated so many toxins in your body from years of fecal matter adhering to your bowels, you will probably experience a few negative side effects - especially in the beginning.

Beneficial Side Effects from a Colon Cleanse

Some of the beneficial side effects that come from a sustained colon cleanse include boosted energy levels and great skin.  These positive effects are not guaranteed to last forever as many people simply revert back to their ordinary lifestyle afterwards.

The way to truly reap the benefits of a colon cleanse is to sustain the maintenance required for good health.  Over time, the side effects most noted after a colon cleanse are clear, smooth skin, weight loss, shiny hair, a flatter stomach and less headaches.  People who suffer from bad skin, lifeless hair, bloating, gas, cramps, irritable bowels, constipation, headaches, lethargy and a wide range of other conditions can benefit from a colon cleanse.  It is as if a weight is lifted off some people after they have had a colon cleanse. All of the toxins are now regularly flushed out of your body.  An overall feeling of good health and vitality is just one of the many beneficial side effects noticed after a colon cleanse regime.

Negative Colon Cleanse Side Effects

Although a colon cleanse can be an excellent tool to improve the condition and functions of the bowels and colon, there are often some bad aspects to overcome first.  The negative side effects of a colon cleanse depend on the speed of the detoxification. As the toxins start to pour out of your cells they can cause migraines, nausea, flu like symptoms and even anxiety.

Before undergoing a colon cleanse, it is important that you are fully aware of the various side effects that could negatively influence the body and mind.  These side effects occur during and after a colon cleanse simply because the body goes into a type of shock as it is detoxified and cleaned.

The shorter the cleansing process, the more serious the symptoms can be, even leading to a deep yet short lived depression.  The worst part tends to be over within a week and is nothing compared to the beneficial side effects of a colon cleanse.  Things seem to get worse before they get better as the body is subjected to a sudden yet necessary clean out.

The more unhealthy your lifestyle has been, the deeper the shock when your body releases all those toxic residues.  Rapid cleansing can cause some punishing side effects but a colon cleanse does not need to be so dramatic.  If you keep your body in a moderately healthy condition between each cleansing process, you'll notice that it gets easier all the time as this makes the detoxification less of a trauma to your system.

How to Find the Best Colon Cleansing Program

If you're searching for the best colon cleansing program you need to know what to look for. Everyone's body is unique. It's important to understand that what's 'best' for someone may not be 'best' for you.

However, there are many common elements present in the best colon cleansing programs you may find. These common factors have proven to produce happy colon owners all over the world. In other words, you can find a program that will suit you to a 'T'.

Parasite Killing Formula

If you are starting your first colon cleanse, choose a program that has some type of parasite killing formula. Yes, parasites, otherwise known as worms live in the digestive systems of over a billion people across the world and not only in undeveloped countries.

Parasites can be found in everything from undercooked meat to raw fruits and vegetables. We've all exposed to them in some kind of way.  Perhaps from walking barefoot in the park to having your dog lick your face. They thrive on the undigested fecal matter that lies dormant in your colon and they must be destroyed.

The best colon cleansing programs will contain some type of parasite killer comprised of wormwood and black walnut along with other different herbs.  Wormwood and black walnut are known to kill parasites and are the main ingredients you should look for in a parasite destroyer.  Keep in mind that 70% of parasites are invisible to the naked eye, so you may not see most of the parasites that are expelled, but be assured that they are being evicted from your colon.

High Fiber Intestinal Cleanser

The best colon cleansing programs will also include a high-fiber intestinal cleanser that can be mixed with juice or water.  The primary ingredient you want to look for is psyllium husks.  The manufacturers may mix other beneficial herbs with the psyllium husks, but that's okay.  As long as the psyllium husks are the predominant ingredient, then you will have an intestinal cleanser that is both effective and high in fiber.

The high fiber cleanser acts as a bulking agent.  It forms into a gelatinous substance that loosens compacted fecal matter and traps dead parasites and expels them from your system.  A high fiber powder containing psyllium husks is the driving force of any good colon cleansing program because it helps to stimulate contractions in the colon that cause it to eliminate on a regular basis.

Herbal Laxative Tea

Your cleansing programs should also include some kind herbal laxative tea.  The tea is usually enjoyed in the evening a few hours before bed.  It helps you to sleep well at night and also it stimulates your colon even more as you rest so you can have a hefty bowel movement or two in the morning.  The main ingredient to look for in an herbal laxative tea is senna leaf.  Senna leaf has been used for centuries and is known for its laxative properties.  It stimulates the colon and encourages the passage of fecal matter. The faster you move waste our of your body the less time it has for the stool to absorb fluid so it remains soft.

Remember that 'best' is relative. Look for the common and proven ingredients listed here as guidelines for finding the best colon cleansing program for you. Try them out and soon you'll find the one that gives you the best results for your unique system.
